$5000 boost to assist diabetes awareness program Vodafone Fiji ATH Foundation has stepped in with financial boost to assist the Lions Club in their Diabetes Awareness program.

The $5000 donation is to assist in their health screening projects, administering each Lions Club in Lautoka, Tavua and Nadi to raise health screening awareness around Fiji.

Whilst handing the cheque to Carl Perrin, Zone Chairman for the Fiji Lions club, Vodafone's Head of E-Commerce and Corporate Affairs, Shailendra Prasad said the Foundation shared the same goals as Lions Club of Fiji in assisting the needy in the communities.

"Our efforts are to continuously support organizations that initiate projects and put in every effort to multiply and replicate its effects," Prasad said.

"Corporate Philanthropy is the Vodafone way of giving back to the society and will continue to support such efforts from individuals and our partner organizations to catalyze real social change that is collaborative, sustainable and has larger rate of return on societal benefits."

Perrin said the successful partnership has resulted in health screenings around the country that has saved many lives.

Lions Club will provide free screenings in different locations around the country. Dates and venues will be announced later.
